Inbal Becker-Reshef and Chris Justice met with a Chilean delegation from the Natural Resources Information Center (CIREN) to discuss EO applications in agriculture on August 9th, 2023. The meeting was attended by Katherine Araya, CIREN Executive Director Noelia Tastets Torres, CIREN Strategic, Production and Development Manager, Juan Pablo Espinoza, Embassy of Chile’s Deputy Chief of Mission, Andrés Rodriguez, Embassy of Chile’s Agricultural Attaché to the United States & Canada, Fernando Vásquez, Embassy of Chile’s Agricultural Office Information Officer

CIREN based in Santiago Chile, is a technological institute that manages information on the country's natural resources, through the use of information technologies and geospatial applications, making them accessible and useful for decision making. in forestry and agricultural producers, public institutions, academia, public and private development agents. CIREN is part of the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture.

Inbal represented the NASA Harvest program and Brad Doorn the NASA Agriculture Program Manager (NASA HQ). Allison Leidner represented the NASA Climate Applications Program and Nancy Searby NASA’s Capacity Building Program. Discussions included the interests of CIREN and potential cooperation with NASA including through the NASA DEVELOP program.
